Welcome

Welcome to the temporary home of the S Club Heaven news blog. We've been having problems with my account after a hacking incident, but we wanted to have the site back online in time for Rachel's appearances on Strictly Come Dancing. So we will be reporting news and updates here until the problem can be fixed.

Rachel rehearses for the Jive

After last Saturday's comments, when head judge Len said that their performance was a bit flat, Rachel and Vincent are determined to put a bit of fizz back into their routine for the weekend - the Jive.

Rachel appears to be picking up the Jive quickly, but struggles with a couple of complex steps in training. Vincent attempts to include a move where he swings Rachel around his body, but she finds this a little too challenging and complains of carpet burns on her toes. He also keeps altering the routine, which means that Rachel struggles to learn anything at all as she muses, "what is he going to do next?"

However, the couple are still joking around, and Vincent teases his little Piccolina, telling her, "You've only got two feet, but you always pick the wrong one! Thank God you don't have more feet!"

Rachel is still enthusiastic though, and exclaims, "I'm really looking forward to the Jive. We've tried some moves but I don't know how I'll do in it... it's a really energetic and fun dance though, so it should be good. The Jive entails high energy, lots of fun, flicks and hops and a good support bra!"

Matt Di Angelo moves in with Strictly partner Flavia

Remember the romance last year between I Dream star Matt Di Angelo and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Flavia Cacace? Contrary to rumours this summer that they had split, Matt and Flavia had actually moved in together. According to The Sun they were never apart, but used the rumours as a smokescreen to gain them some privacy. Matt has now moved into Flavia's home in Guildford.

A show source said last night: “A rumour started in June that Matt and Flavia had split. Nobody is saying they leaked the story themselves — but they certainly allowed the rumour to continue and didn’t deny it. They saw it as a great way of carrying on their romance without the pressure of it being in the public eye. The truth is they never split up, and they have now moved in together."

They have recently been spotted in clubs and restaurants in London. The source said: “They can’t hope to keep it secret for much longer. It was only a matter of time before it came out in the open"."But they’re not bothered — they’re in love and they don’t care who knows.”

Catch Rachel on TV tonight

Rachel will be performing tonight on Strictly Come Dancing. The competition is hotting up, with Rachel falling a few places on the judges leaderboard last week. She needs your vote to stay in. The show is on BBC1 at 6:35 tonight.

I also just wanted to remind you that I am not paying people to work on this site. If you are looking for a way to make a bit of extra cash, this is a really easy way to do it. There are lots of different jobs available, not just updating the news blog. Please leave your e-mail address in a comment in you are interested.

Video of Rachel's samba

On Saturday evening Rachel and Vincent performed a samba to Shakira's Hips Don't Lie. Judge Bruno was impressed, but said Rachel had to "get the raunch out." Craig agreed: "Technically you're very good... but go a little bit more wild." And Arlene added that Rachel "just didn't get on fire" for her. The judges gave her a total of 30 points, putting in her in joint fourth place (out of eight). This was her lowest position in the judges leaderboard so far, but the public vote saved her and she will perform again next week.

Rachel stays in Strictly

Last night Rachel performed a successful Quickstep with her partner Vincent and earned 33 points from the judges, once again putting her in second place. Judge Bruno said it was the best Quickstep of the night, and Craig said he loved it. Len called it 'fantastic' and Arlene called them the 'perfect package'.

This evening the result of the public vote was revealed, and Rachel will stay in the competition to dance again next week. This will be the first show where the male and female celebrities compete against each other, performing either a Samba or an American Smooth.

Rachel performing on Strictly tonight / Rehearsal news from this week

Rachel will be performing on Strictly Come Dancing tonight, dancing a Quickstep with her partner Vincent. The show is on BBC1 at 5:50.

Rehearsal on Thursday: There were lots of giggles from Rachel, "I don't know what's wrong with me today, I can't stop laughing" - and the usual antics from Vincent. Rachel explained that the show is quite a difference from her days in S Club 7, where she was performing with the rest of the group all the time. Nevertheless she's having the time of her life, and being on Strictly is a dream come true for her!

Rehearsal on Friday: Rachel and Vincent's rehearsal is a tale of two halves. At first they seemed laboured and frustrated, but by the end of the session things improved and Vincent was extremely pleased with Rachel's progress. This positive turn of events meant Rachel was keen to go through the routine again and again - dragging an exhausted Vincent to the dance floor for more.

Rachel postponed wedding for Strictly

Rachel Stevens has had to postpone her wedding to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. Rachel was set to marry her fiance Alex Bourne this autumn, but after signing up for the BBC dance contest they have had to put their wedding on hold. Rachel said: "I did think about trying to squeeze a wedding in during the show, but there was just no way. It will have to wait until it has ended."

Rachel, 30, and former masseur Alex, 31, were friends at school and had stayed in touch. They began dating over a year ago and he proposed in June while the pair were on holiday in Italy. A source said: "Rachel is really ambitious and puts her career first."

Rachel rehearses for another group dance

This week is the male celebrities week on Strictly Come Dancing which means that Rachel and Vincent will not be dancing individually. However, they will be taking part in another group dance. This week the female celebrities and their professional partners have been learning a Lindy Hop.

Both the celebrities and their partners are learning this new routine for the first time, and during rehearsals Rachel managed to pick it up faster than her partner Vincent! They are described as an "affectionate twosome", racing around the room as Vincent gives Rachel a piggy back.

Rachel is engaged

This may not be news to everyone, but I've been out of the loop for a while so it surprised me: Rachel is engaged!

This is what presenter Tess Daly had to say about Rachel's first performance on Strictly Come Dancing last Saturday:

"Then there was Rachel, christened Rrrrrrrrrrachel by an ecstatic Bruno, who was pure dynamite with her Italian stallion. Vincent's little princess wowed with her sensual salsa, while her fiancé Alex watched from the audience. These guys made one heck of an impact and aren't they just so cute together?"

Congratulations to Rachel and her future husband Alex.
